Beautiful way to help women that are abused and marginalized.
Just happened in Adorn in Steamboat Springs, Co this past week. Lots of unique things in the store. What caught my eye were some small handcrafted Christmas ornaments. They were beautiful and oddly I had some similar but not as bejeweled as the ones there. There was an article beside them telling of the women of Chiang Rai Thailand who made and sewed some of the items there including the ornaments. These are women who have been removed from abusive or trafficked situations, given training and the jobs sewing the items sold in the store. As a sponsor of two girls at House of Grace in the same city, I knew of the poverty there and the attitude towards girls and women for money to their impoverished families. Promises of great futures for the girls that is just not true. They live short, miserable, drug addicted lives for pleasure of others. You know there are people in this world trying to make a difference in the lives of others and Adorn is one of them. Quoting an old song, “What a Wonderful World This Could Be” what if everyone looked for ways they could help those in need, how wonderful would it be? I plan to order from the website soon. Due to airline luggage issues on our trip, I wasn’t able to buy in the store. Keep up the good work! (In the picture are some of my ornaments received from girls there).
