"Toujours de l'avant. Toujours en service."
Always Forward. Always Serving
This is the motto of our friends who have spent the last 15 years in youth development and discipleship in Yaoundé, the capital city of Cameroon. Victor & Florence Maniym are Cameroonian nationals who have a heart for seeing the youth of their nation transformed from the inside out. They began by building a transformational leadership development curriculum to be implemented in secondary schools in Yaoundé, then seeing the hunger for this kind of content, began an annual Young Leaders Camp, an immersive and communal camp experience for young people in Cameroon. Still, the Lord kept tugging their hearts, showing them the need for more sustained discipleship opportunities and a more comprehensive platform for transformational leadership development.
In 2020, Victor & Florence felt called to step out in faith to begin developing plans for a secondary school to build on the foundations laid in their curriculum and youth leadership camps. In 2021, they launched the ‘groundwork’ campaign to acquire the land and begin the process of development for the Ecole Internationale d’Afrique, The Africa International School. A place where Victor, Florence and their team are eager to spend nine months of each year pouring into young people, teaching them Biblical principles, and discipling them in the way of Jesus.
Victor shared with his gentle and magnetic smile, ‘There is a gap between the potential of what Cameroon could be and the current situation, and we want to respond by building this school for Cameroonians, by Cameroonians. We believe that our nation can be transformed from the inside out.”
This month at Adorn, we started our first ever “We Give Wednesday” series where we partner with local & global nonprofits we believe in to give 10% of all sales on the feature day to support their unique mission. Our first #wegivewednesday featured Oneby1 & Africa International School in Cameroon. Oneby1 is a local nonprofit that operates in partnership with Victor and Florence, coming alongside their vision to see this school come to life.
It’s so powerful to see the impact that our customer community at Adorn can make around the world, and we are so grateful for your intention to purchase with purpose this holiday season, dear friends!
We pray that we, too, can join our Cameroonian brothers and sisters by walking this way:
Toujours de l'avant. Toujours en service. Always forward. Always serving.
